SynapQ Terms of Service
These terms explain how you may use SynapQ, how subscriptions work, and what responsibilities you have for the study material you upload.
Summary
- SynapQ is a subscription software service that turns your own study material into a review and practice workflow.
- You may only upload material you are authorized to use.
- AI-assisted outputs are supportive only; you remain responsible for checking accuracy and suitability.
- Paid plans are prepaid subscriptions, and cancellation stops future renewal rather than undoing the current paid term.
- Original uploaded files may be retained only briefly and cleaned up automatically while source or question state remains.
- Mandatory consumer protections still apply, but the service includes evolving features and liability limits.
1. Scope of the service
SynapQ is a software service that helps users turn their own notes, PDFs, and question materials into a more reusable study workflow. The service may include web, mobile, and desktop surfaces together with upload, parsing, review, practice, flashcards, and explanation features.
SynapQ is not an exam authority, an accredited education provider, or a marketplace for third-party question banks. The product primarily sells software access, not downloadable content libraries.
In some product flows, original uploaded files are retained only for a limited retention window and may later be cleaned up automatically even if the source record, parser history, or approved questions remain in the product.
2. Eligibility and account responsibility
To use the service, you must keep your account information accurate and take reasonable steps to protect your credentials. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account, subject to your reasonable security practices.
You may not share access credentials, access someone else’s account without permission, or use the service for unlawful purposes.
3. Your uploaded materials and usage rights
You retain your rights in the questions, PDFs, images, text, and other study materials you upload to SynapQ. In order to operate the service, you grant us a limited license to host, process, transform, index, cache, and display that material across the product.
You may only upload material that you are authorized to upload, process, and use in your study workflow. You are responsible for obtaining the necessary rights, licenses, and permissions.
- Copyright-infringing material
- Unauthorized copies or pirated content
- Files that unlawfully contain third-party confidential or personal data
- Malware, spam, or content intended to harm the service
4. Acceptable use
You may not use the service to bypass security controls, stress or probe systems abusively, reverse engineer the product, automate harmful activity, or interfere with other users.
You also may not use SynapQ to facilitate unlawful conduct, infringe third-party rights, or scale deceptive or abusive content workflows.
You may not resell the service, share access in an unauthorized way, scrape the service systematically, build competing datasets or models from the service, or operate the service for abusive third-party automation.
5. AI and automated outputs
Some features may provide explanations, summaries, or transformations generated by AI or other automated systems. Those outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your exact use case.
AI outputs are provided as educational assistance only and do not replace professional, academic, medical, or legal advice. You remain responsible for reviewing and deciding how to use them.
6. Subscriptions, billing, and renewal
SynapQ may offer a free tier alongside paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed in advance for the relevant billing period and may renew automatically unless canceled under the applicable payment provider rules.
Paid purchases are currently processed on the web through merchant-of-record providers such as Lemon Squeezy. If mobile billing is enabled later, the applicable app store or mobile billing provider rules may also apply.
Some parts of billing, tax handling, payment-method validation, chargeback review, and payment lifecycle management may be handled by the applicable merchant-of-record or payment provider. Their transaction rules may therefore apply to the relevant part of the payment flow.
7. Cancellation, suspension, and termination
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Unless stated otherwise, cancellation preserves access until the end of the current paid term and prevents the next renewal.
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, create a security or abuse risk, trigger payment issues, or materially interfere with the service.
We may also remove content, disable shares, restrict specific features, or temporarily freeze an account while investigating suspected abuse, payment disputes, or rights violations.
8. Intellectual property
The SynapQ software, interfaces, branding, design, and other original service components belong to SynapQ or its licensors.
You grant us the right to use feedback you submit for product improvement without compensation to you.
9. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless SynapQ and its service providers from claims, losses, and reasonable defense costs arising out of your breach of these terms, your lack of rights to uploaded material, your infringement of third-party rights, or your misuse of the service.
This allocation does not remove consumer protections that cannot legally be waived, but it is intended to protect us against user-originated violations and third-party claims outside our own fault.
10. Service changes and availability
We may add, remove, update, or temporarily suspend features for maintenance, security, or operational reasons.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, perfect parsing for every file format, or error-free operation, although we aim to run the service with reasonable commercial care.
Some features may be beta, early-access, or experimental and can change more often, be withdrawn, or behave with higher failure risk than stable parts of the service.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the extent permitted by law.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Subject to mandatory legal limits, our aggregate liability for claims arising from the service will not exceed the amount you paid to SynapQ during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude liability or consumer rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including rights that remain mandatory despite contractual language to the contrary.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will publish the updated version on the site and may provide additional notice when appropriate.
Your continued use of the service after the updated terms become effective means you accept the revised terms.
